Introduction

Today, Type 2 Diabetes has become a common health condition among men and women from different parts of the world. The latest data has revealed that about 37 million in diverse regions of the United States have hyperglycemia or type 2 diabetes Symptoms.

The problem is that type 2 diabetes onsets gradually with mild symptoms during its early stages. Indeed, many patients fail to realize their condition. Our blog post will therefore give an overview of type 2 diabetes and initial type 2 diabetes symptoms.

Overview of Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes or hyperglycemia occurs when the patient’s body fails to make insulin in enough amounts or use it appropriately. Insulin is a hormone that carries sugar/glucose to your body cells. Whenever the body has problems with the hormone insulin, glucose/sugar builds up in the blood to raise sugar levels. The only way to deal with hyperglycemia is to identify the symptoms of diabetes right at its initial stage.

Initial Symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes

Urinating Frequently

Type 2 hyperglycemia causes an increase in blood sugar levels. The high blood glucose levels force your kidneys to remove the excess glucose by filtering it from your blood. Hence, you may need to pee or urinate frequently. Frequent urination especially takes place during the nighttime or bedtime. Hence, urinating frequently is one of the major signs of type 2 diabetes in humans.

Often Feeling Hungry

Diabetes patients usually do not get the required energy from their daily diet. The digestive system of humans breaks the food items into glucose, which their body uses as fuel. However, the digestive system of a hyperglycemic patient cannot move enough glucose from his bloodstream into the cells. Hence, type 2 diabetes patients often feel hungry even when they have had something just a few minutes ago.

Unusual Thirst

Unusual thirst is also one of the type 2 diabetes symptoms, which takes place at the initial stage. Whenever glucose builds up in the blood, the kidneys compel to work hard to overcome it. The hard action of kidneys pulls extra fluids from your body cells and tissues to make you dehydrated. Hence, diabetes patients feel thirsty even after drinking water regularly.

Dry Mouth

Both frequent peeing and dehydration drain out the moisture content from your mouth to cause the condition of dry mouth.

Sores and Infections that Heal with Difficulty

Hyperglycemia damages blood vessels and nerves in your body, which leads to impaired blood circulation. Indeed, healing of your wound needs a few weeks or months even with minor wounds, sores, and cuts. Slow healing of wounds will also increase your risk related to infection.

Yeast Infections, Itching/Burning Sensation

Yeast infections with itching or burning sensation are especially the initial signs of diabetes in women. Such infections often take place on moist and warm areas of the human skin, like genital areas, armpits, and mouth. The reason is that excessive amounts of sugar in urine and blood supply food for the growth of yeast resulting in infection. The affected areas often become itchy while a few people may even have a burning sensation and soreness.

Pain, Numbness, or Tingling in the Body

High glucose levels in the blood may damage your nerves, which causes pain, numbness, or tingling in different body parts. The problem becomes worse with time and causes many severe complications if the person does not receive the right diabetes treatment.

Fatigue

When your body fails to use the energy from a daily diet, you may feel tired and weak. A few diabetes patients may feel fatigued from dehydration.

Blurred Vision followed by Permanent Vision Loss

Excessive blood sugar may damage the eyes’ blood vessels, which results in blurry vision. Moreover, type 2 diabetes may swell your eye lens and cause blurry vision. If you leave your diabetes untreated, you may have permanent vision loss.

Conclusion

Type 2 diabetes excessively increases the blood sugar or glucose level of a person to cause many complications. Hence, humans should work responsibly and spot type 2 diabetes symptoms as early as possible.
